Attendance
We are very proud that attendance at our schools is consistently high. For the 2022/23 year to date our attendance rate is 94% for both schools despite the coronavirus pandemic. This high attendance rate reflects our children’s enjoyment in coming into school. Our school vision is for all our children to grow, blossom and flourish and to enable them to do this, it is important that they attend school every day unless they are too ill or there are exceptional circumstances.
Our attendance policy can be found on our policies page
Punctuality
To enable our teachers to begin their lessons on time and to maximise pupil learning, it is important that all pupils arrive at school promptly. Our school day begins at 8:50 and the register will be taken soon after. Any pupil arriving later than 9am, when the registers have closed, will be marked accordingly. School will follow up cases of persistent lateness.
If your child is unwell…
If your child is absent from school, please telephone the school office or send an email as soon as possible. By asking parents to help keep us informed of all absences we can ensure the safety of all our children during normal school hours.
If your child needs medication during school hours…
If your child needs to complete a prescribed course of medicine whilst at school an Administration of Medicine form (below) is required to be filled in by the parent/carer before any member of staff can administer the medicine.
The school will only accept the responsibility of administering the medicine if it is absolutely necessary for it to be administered during the school day. Therefore if a medicine simply needs to be administered 3 times a day then it could be done just before school, just after school and just before bed and therefore does not need to be given during the school day.
The school will only accept medicine that has been prescribed by a doctor and has a pharmacy label clearly visible.
The school will not administer any over the counter medication such as ibuprofen, aspirin etc. unless prescribed by a doctor.
If you wish to request an absence during term time…
If you need to take your child out of school during term-time, please complete the form below and return to the office. There is no automatic right to such term-time absence. Holidays during term-time are unlikely to be authorised unless there is an exceptional circumstance. We ask you to think carefully about taking holidays during term-time as your child can miss significant chunks of learning.
